Pan Merchant Bhd has secured a RM26.49 million contract to supply key equipment for the Sg Rasau Water Supply Scheme in Selangor, strengthening its presence in the water treatment infrastructure sector.

The group announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, PMI-Technology Sdn Bhd (PMI), has accepted a Letter of Award (LOA) from REI OOE Consortium Sdn Bhd (ROC) for the supply of filter press systems and ancillary equipment for the project.

The contract involves the supply, delivery, supervision of installation, testing and commissioning of filter press and related equipment under Process Package 2 of the proposed Sg Rasau Water Supply Scheme (Stage 1) in Selangor.

PMI was appointed as the nominated supplier by Gamuda M&E Sdn Bhd, the employer for the project, through ROC, which is undertaking key components of the development.

The broader Sg Rasau Water Supply Scheme includes the design and construction of a new water intake facility, raw water pumping mains, water treatment plant and associated infrastructure, as well as the installation and maintenance of critical treatment process equipment.

Under the terms of the award, the supply works will commence immediately upon issuance of the LOA and are scheduled for completion within 17 months, subject to any approved extensions of time.

The contract carries a total value of RM26.49 million.

Pan Merchant said the award is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets throughout the contract period.

The company added that the project is part of its ordinary course of business and does not pose any exceptional risks beyond the normal operational challenges associated with executing the supply works.

The latest contract win further enhances Pan Merchant’s order book and positions the group to benefit from ongoing investments in water infrastructure development, particularly in Selangor, where water supply security remains a key priority amid growing demand.
