Pan Merchant bags RM17 mil filtration solutions supply contract

KUALA LUMPUR (July 8): Pan Merchant Bhd (KL:PMIBHD) said on Wednesday it has secured a contract worth RM17 million to supply membrane filtration solutions for the food processing industry in Malaysia.

In a bourse filing, the industrial filtration engineering specialist said the contract was awarded to its subsidiary PMI-Technology Sdn Bhd by an undisclosed customer identified only as Company A.

Company A was incorporated in Malaysia and is principally involved in engineering design and process technologies but its identity could not be disclosed due to the confidentiality of a commercial and nondisclosure agreement, according to the group's filing.

Pan Merchant said the scope of works includes supplying, delivering and supervising the installation, testing and commissioning of filtration solutions for the food processing industry.

The works are scheduled to be completed within 12 months.

"The award further positions the group’s growing presence in the local industrial sector and provides additional earnings visibility in the year ahead," said Pan Merchant managing director Wong Voon Ten in a statement.

"We remain committed to supporting our customers with innovative filtration technologies while looking at new opportunities across the industrial and process sectors," Wong added.

The latest win also comes on the heels of the group securing a RM26.49 million contract as a nominated supplier for the Sungai Rasau Water Supply Scheme (Stage 1) in Selangor, which it announced on June 3.

"Together, these projects demonstrate the group's ability to deliver reliable solid liquid filtration solutions across diverse industrial and water infrastructure applications, a testament to its technical expertise in providing customised, high performance filtration systems," Pan Merchant said.

Pan Merchant shares closed one sen higher at 21.5 sen on Wednesday, valuing the group at RM196.9 million.
